Preparation
 
Fall 2008  
- Antigonish Town & County Recreation Association is formed
   
- Cost Estimate of all phases was completed
   
January 2009  
-  The Town & The Municipality of The County of Antigonish each commit $250,000 to the project
   
-  The Strait Regional School Board commits $250,000 to the project
   
February 2009  
- Application to Health Promotion & Protection submitted by Association
   
April 2009  
- Antigonish Town & County Recreation Association registers under The Society Act of Nova Scotia
   
-  Weekly association meetings commence
   
-  Production of campaign materials
   
-  Development of awareness and media campaign
   
-  Planning for May's Chamber of Commerce breakfast
   
-  Completion of ACOA application

- Association $1,000,000 fundraising campaign begins
   
January 2010  
- Association is granted Charitable status with Revenue Canada
   
February 2010  
- A second application was submitted to Health Promotion & Protection by the Association.  $150,000 was received from the Province of Nova Scotia
   
- MP Peter MacKay & Health Minister Maureen MacDonald meet with the Steering Committee on February 17th & 19th
   
June 2010  
- The Steering Committee meets with Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter, MLA Maurice Smith, Minister of Economic & Rural Development, Percey Paris and Minister of Health Maureen MacDonald
   
July 2010  
- The Association submits an application to Economic & Rural Development for $350,000
   
October 2010  
- The Province of Nova Scotia commits $350,000 to the project through Economic & Rural Development
   
January 2011  
- The Association submits an application to ACOA requesting $500,000 from the Innovative Community Fund
   
February 2011  
- An environmental assessment of the project commences.  The assessment is a requirement for the ACOA application.
   
March 2011  
- ACOA commits $500,000 to the field project
   
June 2011  
- Phase I tenders are accepted
   
July-September   
- Phase I is completed
   
December 2011  
- Association is approached the Track & Field Association with suggested enhancements to the project and the enthusiasm to aid in the project
   
January 2012  
- Association agrees with the proposal submitted by the Track & Field Association and approves the suggested enhancement to the project
